This guide walks you through a proven 3-step workflow for producing SEO-optimized articles with AI, from finding the right topic to generating the images that go with it. It’s written for beginners, so no prior SEO experience is assumed.

By the end, you’ll have a repeatable system you can use for every article on your site.

Don’t trust instinct alone. Check real numbers using:

Step 3: Write the Article With a Structured AI Prompt

This is where most people write a lazy one-line prompt. Instead, give the AI everything it needs in one structured request.

Here are my top 5 competitors for this topic: [list URLs]. Analyze them and identify subtopics, questions, or angles they are NOT covering well — I want my article to fill those gaps.

Follow these guidelines:

  • Use Q&A formatting in relevant sections — natural-language questions with concise, self-contained answers that could be lifted word-for-word by AI search engines.
  • Keep sentences and paragraphs short and scannable.
  • Make every section understandable even if read completely out of context (no ‘as mentioned above’ references).
  • Include a properly tagged heading structure (H1, H2, H3 — specify which text goes in which tag).
  • Include an SEO-optimized meta title (under 60 characters) and meta description (under 155 characters).
  • Include a responsive comparison or stats table relevant to the topic.
  • Suggest 4–5 image prompts (for a tool like Ideogram) with SEO-optimized alt text for each, placed where the images should go in the article.”
